Located at the Ulu Tranum Forest Reserve in the borders of Pahang and Selangor, Gunung GAP (1115m) provides climbers with a relatively relaxing but challenging climb through the Malaysian lowland rainforest, albeit being only about an hour’s drive away from the IMU.
The climb is expected to take about two hours to reach Gunung GAP, where we will be taking a quick breather before exiting the trail so that we can head to our next destination – Chilling Falls.
Located just 5 minutes away, the trail to Chilling Falls begins at the Sungai Chilling Fish Sanctuary. The trail will take about an hour or so, with numerous river crossings along the way. You’ll find yourself waddling waist deep in the cold mountain-streams of Sungai Chilling and walking through orchid and fern strewn valleys – a must go for the avid photographer.
Upon reaching the majestic Chilling Falls, we will break for a quick bite and for the customary photography session. Once done, we then announce the names of the Infinity Milers Committee Members 2009/2010, comprising of voted representatives from ME/DT108 and ME208.
With the formalities done, we will exit the trail before heading to the nearby Kuala Kubu Bahru town for late lunch/early dinner.
